James Larry Sneed, 84, of Richardson, Texas, transitioned from his earthly life to his eternal life on February 17, 2024. Jim was a true Texas native born to Wilbur Dunbar Sneed and Mary Evelyn Blessingame on December 5, 1939 in Dallas, Texas.
Jim graduated from Richardson High School in 1958, and later enlisted in the United States Navy serving four years defending our country. He was discharged with honors in California. There he met his life companion David and together they made a home for many years. While in California, Jim worked for Handleman Music Company, a leading mass merchandiser of prerecorded music in the United States. While working there, he met many famous people such as Tina Turner, George Strait and Reba McEntire. Jim retired as a sales rep from Handleman in 2004. In 2005, they moved back to Richardson, Texas and lived in Jim’s childhood home until his passing.
Jim was a kind and dedicated man that loved to square dance and go out to dinner with family and friends. He especially loved the schnauzers that he and David raised throughout their years together. He had many friends, some of which he had known for over 40 years. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur “Bud” Dunbar Sneed and his mother, Mary Evelyn Blessingame. He is survived by his partner of over 40 years, David Michael Evans, their schnauzers Bailey and Grady and many friends that loved him and will miss him greatly.
