Jim grew up in Mesquite and went to North Mesquite High School. After school he worked in sales, he had a gift working with people. In his spare time Jim enjoyed driving his Toyota Tacoma truck, riding his motorcycle and was an avid collector of toy trains. Jim always had a Dr. Pepper in hand, he was a fan of the DP, something he passed on to his kids. His greatest joy in life was his family and friends, all of whom will remember his gentle soul, vibrant sense of humor, laughter, and smile. Everywhere Jim went he was the life of the party. He will be missed by so many.
Jim is survived by his mother, Wanda House; daughters Lisa Cook and her husband Rick, Lori Baker and her husband Joe, Leslie Jackson; his 5 grandchildren, April, Kaitlyn, Shelby, Autumn and Braxton and his 3 sisters, Janie, Jeanie and Cindy. Jim was preceded in death by his father James House Sr. and his sister Cathey Sue House.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will at 11AM on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
