James Holland Hickman died unexpectedly at his home on July 12th, at the age of 47 years old. James was born on July 8, 1964 to Dr. John F. and Judith E. Hickman. He was a graduate of Highland Park High School and has been an avid supporter of the Highland Park Football Team. After attending college at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, he received his RN License from Brookhaven College in Dallas. After working in the nursing field he then turned his interest to managing the operation of the Forest Lawn Cemetery on Harry Hines Blvd. for the past 14 years. He was a wonderful brother and son who had many loyal friends and acquaintances. James was a sympathetic, fun loving and caring person who seldom met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. John F. Hickman, grandparents John W. & Lydia Hickman and Rhea & Hattie Clark and stepfather Lewis Chandler. He is survived by his mother, Judith E. Chandler, Brother John H. Hickman and wife Kathy, stepmother Betsy Hickman, stepbrother Lt. Col. Thomas W. Lewis, and Rosalind Hickman.
The family will receive visitors Monday, July 18, 2011 between 6 - 8pm at Sparkman Hillcrest. A family graveside service is scheduled for 9:00am Tuesday, July 19th followed by a memorial service to be held at 10:00am at Highland Park Presbyterian Church Wynne Chapel, 3821 University Blvd., Dallas, TX 75205.
