One of my favorite times on Dad's Navy Boat

It’s a beautiful day in Texas days like today is my dad used to love being on his boat enjoying being on the water

I want to say this was 2022. We got a hotel and stayed for the weekend. Got to go on a short cruise and had a blast catching up on old times.

We used to visit Dad and Mom when they lived on the Admiral. We would stay in the second "state Room" Dad made. We would go fishing and cruise Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Once we took a long trip on the intercoastal waterway. Those were good times.

Dad bought this boat from the Navy. Mom and Dad lived on it for a few years. Dad rebuilt both engines from scratch and converted this boat to a duel cabin sleeper. We had many good times on it.  It was a brick house, the hull was double thick steel and could hit a log or floating shipping container and not miss a beat.

Back in the day before it became illegal, Dad and his friends dove to the bottom they took off thier scuba tanks, and scurried into chamber two of the well. It is now blocked off to divers with a jail type cage - He often spoke of these days

Aubrey was a good friend of my husband and myself. We shared many happy times together. Gerald and Aubrey used to work on their hot rod in Aubrey‘s backyard, and then when they could find a place to have drag meat, we would all go and have one heck of a time. Usually we would go to a military base that was deactivated and drag The hot rods that they had been working on and enter into the competition.

Thank you for your service Mr. Hayes. Rest in peace.

Sharon and James were our neighbors  and  we immediately became friends.  Have some great memories.  RIP 🙏 James.

James and I met in High School and became close friends. I was fortunate enough to have met with him several years ago. We also communicated by phone . I will always remember the great things that we enjoyed. Family and friends please remember only the good times that you were able to enjoy.

This was Dad's bliss, living on the water and being free! The Rose of Sharon was 1 of 2 of his boats.  Mom (Sharon) and Dad lived on this one! Love Ya Dad!

Even though he would never admit to it, My father was the most kind, sensitive soul I knew. Raised me with compassion and grit,
"The World is full of Good people, If you can not find one, Be one" We lost one of the best. I love you, Dad, Never Not Remember!
