James "Bob" Butler

James “Bob” Butler was born June 5, 1930, in Hamlin, TX to James and Maude Butler. He joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War.

James worked at The Shell Oil Company for 24 years. After his retirement James continued his love of fishing, hunting, watching sports and enjoying time with family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents James and Maude Butler, sisters Ethel Sheffield, Doris Fraizer, Annie Nell Lee, and daughter Dorothea Malone. He leaves his children: Rhonda, Jackie, Bobby, and Melissa; grandchildren Charlotte, Tom, Ashley; great-grandchildren Taylor, Gabrielle, Christopher; son-in-law Tom and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service for James will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Chandelier Room of Singing Hills, 6221 University Hills Blvd, Dallas, TX 75241. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mt. Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
