Jacqueline Ann Turner

Jacqueline Ann Turner, a loving wife, precious mother, and devoted grandmother, was born in Smithfield, Illinois in 1934. Ann attended Ardmore High School and graduated in 1951. While working in Ardmore, Oklahoma she met Gerald Turner and they were married in1952. With over 40 moves around the United States due to Gerald’s work in seismic engineering, they finally settled in Ponca City, Oklahoma where their daughter, Pamela, was born. Ann loved the home they built in Ponca City, but their destiny soon led them to International assignments with Conoco Oil Company. Ann showed great curiosity and appreciation in learning about foreign cultures, as well as adaptability in learning to communicate, cook, and take care of her family in Madagascar, Tunisia, Libya, and England. Ann adored visiting Italy and Italian food was her favorite. Pam has a lifetime full of wonderful memories with her mother that consist of bluebird and campfire meetings she led with her wonderful friend Reba Ferrell, cherished conversations, delicious home cooked meals, the best chocolate pies ever, scrabble, card and monopoly games, a variety of creative endeavors and holiday crafts, shopping trips for the latest fashions, and many exciting travel adventures. In 1992, Gerald retired from Conoco Oil in London, England. Ann and Gerald moved to be close to Pam and her husband, Michel Giraudon, as their granddaughters Apryl, Jessica, and Tiffany were born. Ann’s granddaughters were the light of her life and she has been one of their most avid supporters in all of their endeavors. Her granddaughters will be forever grateful for her lessons on how to be a lady. She always made sure they were “dressed to the nines” and she taught them how to make mouthwatering pies. Ann loved attending the Dallas Women’s club and participating in the dinner club. She was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Plano. Ann’s sense of adventure, fun, and spontaneity, combined with her focus on creating and nurturing a strong knit family epitomizes her life. Her family believes that the Lord decided that she would start the New Year in Heaven. She had been battling COPD and was in the hospital since November 25th. This Friday, January 4, we will be having a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas at 3101 Coit Road at 10:00am in the sanctuary. Ann’s devotion to her family, strength of character in the face of adversity, as well as her inner beauty, beautiful eyes and smile will be greatly missed. Ann is survived by her husband, Gerald Turner, who she was married to for 60 years, her daughter Pam Giraudon, son-in-law Michel Giraudon, and her grandchildren Apryl, Jessica, and Tiffany. Her dear friends Ralph and Reba Ferrell and their daughter Lisa, and her family, Chris, Daniel, and Kelsey Bacic were very special to her. A Memorial Service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held on Friday, at 10:00am at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas in the sanctuary. (3101 Coit Road) She will be buried in Independence, Kansas on Saturday, January 5.
