Jacob Nicholas Crane

Through the darkness that we endure during this moment of grief, it is important to reflect on the memories of Jacob that will forever be ingrained in our hearts and keep his spirit alive. Through our prayers, our actions, our love and memories for him, we can honor and pay our respects for him and provide comfort to each other in this difficult time.

Jacob Nicholas Crane, son of Edith Nikki Villanueva and the late Erik Mikael Crane, was born on December 13, 1997 in Dallas, Texas at Baylor Hospital. He learned from his mother a heavy love for movies, music, and to stand proudly in his culture. She ingrained in him the importance of family and to be a kind, loving human. Although he grew to be a mirror copy of his dad, he also learned so much from him that shaped him into the person he was. He learned from his father a sarcastic sense of humor, to be a quiet genius who saw the world in a way that others couldn’t, and how to be strong in the face of anything. Jacob was the product of two loving parents and he represented the best parts of both.

Some of you may remember a tall skinny boy screaming in stadiums and arenas. Whether it be for the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, WWE matches, or supporting his sister, Jacob was unapologetically loud about the things and people that he loved. Others may recall his love for video games. From playing Rock Band and Wii sports with his brother and sisters to playing on the Playstation in his room with friends, Jacob had a competitive charisma that he carried with him in everything he did.

And more than anything, Jacob was a protector. He was meant to be an older brother and there was nothing that he took more seriously than being there for the ones that he cared about. Jacob was loyal. From taking trips to Nashville and New York to watch over and spend time with his siblings to becoming ordained to officiate weddings for his friends, Jacob without question was there when those around him needed him.

Jacob passed away December 26, 2023 in Arlington, Texas to natural causes. Just by being here, it is clear that Jacob was able to have a clear impact on the people around him. Jacob was predeceased by his father Erik Crane and is survived by both his mother Nikki Villanueva and siblings Mikael, Jessica, and Katherine Crane. May Jacob rest in peace soundly and watch over the ones that he loves until they are able to meet again.
