Jack Bailey Shook, Jr. was called to the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was born February 18, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to Jack Bailey Shook Sr. and Gwynne Wimberly Shook. Jack graduated from Allen Military Academy and later became active in the marine reserves. Jack attended Southern Methodist University; married Kathy Kucera and had his eldest daughter, Kathy.
Jack subsequently transferred from SMU and graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. After graduation Jack moved back to Dallas and became a stockbroker where he loved working at Schneider, Bernet and Hickman.
In 1966, Jack married Meg Boggess and had daughters, Wimberly and Mary. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and a true cowboy at heart. He loved to dance and sing, and he loved his ranch in Carrizo Springs spending as much time there as possible.
In 1979 Jack met the love of his life, Katherine Murach. They were married 43 wonderful years. Perfect soulmates who enjoyed the same adventures in life, they were avid snow skiers, mountain bikers, hikers, and fisherman; and they travelled extensively for golf adventures.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming became their home away from home where they shared their love of the outdoors with their family and friends. Jack enjoyed spending time with his dearest friends, golfing at Teton Pines, walking the levy with his family, and biking to Teton Village with his granddaughters.
Jack was a member of Preston Trails Golf Club, Northwood Club, Little Sandy Hunting and Fishing Club, and Idlewild Club. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a generous, loving, and courageous soul who fought valiantly for many years. He will always be our hero.
