After serving in the Navy, he returned home and worked for Mercantile National Bank for 39 years.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Bernice May, son Kenneth May, parents Lola and Frank May, brothers Robert, Rufus, Alvin, Orlie Joe and Raymond May, and sister Mary Gene Erwin.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Marilyn May of Heath, granddaughter Jennifer Flachman and husband Mikell of Waxahachie; step-grandson Brent Kelley and wife Angie of Lavon; and five great-grandchildren: Jayden May-Pereda, Ethan, Nathan, and Abby Flachman,and Xander Kelley.
Private services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, Jack requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
