Jack Whyte LaDue, 87, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. He will be remembered as a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
Jack was born in Dallas, Texas on July 19, 1926 to Milton John and Edna Nance LaDue. He was a 1945 graduate of Vickery High School in Dallas, Texas. Afterwards he joined the Army in June of 1945 and was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Sergeant in November of 1946. Jack attended Southern Methodist University until 1950 when he joined the family business, Gas Equipment Company and worked alongside his brother, Milt J. (Skeet) LaDue, Jr. In 1958, Jack spearheaded the purchase of Rochester Gauges moving the manufacturing line from New York to Dallas. After becoming President of Rochester Gauges, Jack became a leader in the industry by expanding sales into international markets in Latin America and Europe. He was a pioneer in the development of modern technology of liquid level measurement devices.
Throughout his life, Jack enjoyed travel, fine dining, and fine wine; however, his greatest love was family. He was a member of the Crescent Club, the Northwood Club, YPO, and WPO.
Survivors include his son, Jack Richard LaDue; son Charles Kevin and wife, Amy LaDue; daughter Suzanne Marie LaDue; daughter Barbara LaDue and husband Jeff Nitishin; and former wife, Dorothy LaDue all of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by one nephew and four nieces; Skeeter LaDue, Dyanne Auer, Jane Jessel, Linda Aguilar, and Nancy Puig. Other survivors include six grandchildren: Chase and Parker LaDue, Matthew and Luke Nitishin, and Katie and Jack LaDue all of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Dr. Charles N. LaDue, M.J. (Skeet) LaDue, wife Sandra Bacon LaDue, wife Sara Dunn LaDue, and longtime friend, Jean Conner.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Sparkman-Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. A prayer service will be at 6:00 pm with family visitation to follow at Sparkman Hillcrest on Monday, June 30, 2014.
