Howell, Jack Wylie, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25. He was born on December 9, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Fred and Mauretta Howell. Jack was one of two children. He is a veteran of WWII (Army Air Corps) and flew a P-40. He married Margery on September 8, 1951 in Dallas. Jack was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oak Cliff where he was baptized and confirmed. He volunteered many hours and days on building and yard maintenance, as well as accounting. Jack owned a service station, worked for school districts over the years and then worked at his own business until he retired. He enjoyed golf, bird hunting, and working on cars. He was a faithful husband, a patient father, and a loving grandfather/great-grandfather. Jack is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Sherrie, Tom and Paula, Bobby and Jan, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 6121 E Lovers Lane, Dallas on Saturday, January 28, at 2:00 pm. Jack will be interned at DFW National Cemetery.
