Isabella Virginia Jones Jackson, was born to the union of Louis Kato Jones and Annie Mae Hartley Jones, in beautiful Jacksonville, Florida. She accepted Jesus Christ at a very early age to begin a life long journey of service in the Kingdom of God. She lived with her parents and siblings in Florida, until the U. S. Army brought them to Oklahoma, where she continued her development and education. Isabella attended Douglas High School, Lawton, Oklahoma graduating in 1952, magna cum laude, and went on earn her Nursing Degree from Mountain View College and Dallas Baptist University. She enjoyed a thirty year career with the Veterans’ Administration Hospitals in Oklahoma and Texas until retirement in 2001. She married Oscar L. Jackson, Sr., and together they bore six children: LaNeisa, Sandra, Oscar Jr., Larry, Steven, and David. Always a proponent of education she was a great supporter and encourager to her children as she balanced life, church, and work. She served as of President of Junior Missions at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church while her father, Rev. L. K. Jones was Senior Pastor. She was a constant companion to her father as he travelled and preached the Gospel around the Oklahoma District over which he was Moderator. . She continued her travels to Oklahoma and Florida until her father passed in 1997, and later moved her membership to the Potter’s House Church of Dallas in 2002. The golden years of her life were spent as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and worshipper. . You can still hear her singing Amazing Grace, I Need Thee Every Hour and Oh How I Love Jesus! Yes, and the quote of her faith: After you have done all you can, you just stand! Isabella Virginia Jackson is preceded in death by her parents and her two sons, Oscar Jr. and David; her life is celebrated by her daughters, LaNeisa and Sandra [with whom she lived], her sons, Larry and Steven, and her grandchildren, great grandchildren, god-grandchildren; her siblings, Martha Jones Watley, Pauline Jones Parish [Millard], and Jimmy Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, and Christian friends. To the children of Isabella Virginia Jones Jackson, she is more than Mother; they rise up and call her BLESSED. The Lord transitioned her to glory on a golden chariot of love. She is in the arms of Jesus Christ. Well Done!
