Illa Mae Miller passed peacefully into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father March 27, 2011. Born in Royce City, TX, she lived most of her 92 years in Dallas, TX with her husband, O.T. Miller and worked at Sears for many years. Illa Mae was a long-time member of Urban Park United Methodist Church, where she ministered tirelessly to everyone from the children to the elderly for most of her life. She was always soft-spoken and exemplified an unselfish love for everyone around her. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, playing with the grandchildren and a good game of “42”. Illa Mae was very close to her family and is survived by her children, Patsy McGowan (Henry) of Garland, TX and David Miller (Joan) of Loves Park, IL; grandchildren Stephanie Bruton (Randy), Kimberly McGowan, John Miller, and Jason Miller (Lori); great grandchildren Sonny Bruton, Zerek Gentry, and Amelia Mae Miller; step-great grandson Chris Bruton (Melissa) and step-great-great granddaughter Dakota Bruton; brother Fred Lancaster; sisters Runelle Shaw, Atha Lee Cookston, and Dorothy Ingraham; sister-in-law Alice Lancaster. Predeceased by husband O.T. Miller; brothers Orville and Bobby Lancaster; brothers-in-law Sugar Shaw, Sonny Cookston, and Fred Ingraham; and sisters-in-law Ophelia Lancaster and Katie Lancaster. Visitation will be Thursday 3/31/2011, from 6-8 PM. Service will be Friday 4/1/2011 at 10:00 AM in Grove Hill Chapel.
