He served in the US Army (7th Infantry Division) from 1946 – 1948. After completion of his Army service, he moved to Milwaukee, WI to study Engineering at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Ito began working at Johnson Controls in 1954 in an Electro-mechanical design group. This is where he met his wife, Theresa. Ito and Teri were married in 1965, and moved to Port Washington, WI where they raised their two sons. They moved to the warmer climate of Atlanta after Ito’s retirement in 1988, where they were able to travel around the southeast US. They moved to Allen, TX in 1998 to be near their sons and anticipated grandchildren.
Ito enjoyed many hobbies over the years, including swimming and diving, fishing, golf, camping, traveling and photography. In his later years, he could be found doing the crossword puzzle or going for his daily walks.
Described by all who met him as a sweet man, he always greeted people with a smile and a wave. He will be missed.
A private service will be held for the family.
His final resting place will be at the Maui Veterans Cemetery.
