Henry Garcia Torres

Henry G. Torres, 96, passed away peacefully in his sleep May 11, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on April 14, 1927 in Kaufman, Texas to Ines and Pauline Torres. Henry was raised in Dallas. He served as a Corporal in the Air Force during World War II. He married Connie Hernandez Torres in 1950 and the couple had three children. He was a Logistics Operator/Driver at Sanger-Harris where he worked for more than thirty-five years.

In his spare time Henry loved family gatherings ranging from birthdays to random get-togethers. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan regardless of the consistent heartbreak. Back in the day his favorite past time was tending to his garden and lawn at the family lake house.

His family and friends will always remember him a Popo; he was an easy go lucky man. Although he was a man of few words, his words were golden. Henry was the center of his family's universe, adored and honored by all - most especially by his daughter, Sylvia, whom never left his side.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie; sons, Henry Keith and Joe Anthony; parents, Ines and Pauline; siblings, David, Josie, Nora, Bea, Irene, Margaret and Johnny.

He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Torres; sister, Evelyn Martinez; grandchildren, Sharon Puentes, Gabriela and Jose Torres; great-grandchildren, Lisa and Aurelio Puentes, Samantha, Andrew and Noah Alcala, Katarina Torres; great-great-grandchildren, Amelia and Alfonso Rodriguez, Delilah Puentes

A visitation for Henry will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home and Crematory, 3050 N STEMMONS FWY, DALLAS, TX 75247. A rosary will occur Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 3050 N STEMMONS FWY, DALLAS, TX 75247. A mass of christian burial will occur Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at 0980 - Calvary Hill North Chapel, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220. An interment will occur Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220.
