Heather asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior during a Backyard Bible Club at an early age. She was baptized on July 15, 1978. Heather enjoyed soccer from age five. In high school, she played on the varsity team, usually in a backfield role sometimes called “monster girl.” A fearless competitor, she carried this passion into college and intra-mural sports at her beloved Texas A&M University where she suffered an ACL tear in her final game, requiring knee reconstruction. Heather was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, class of 1991.
While recovering from surgery, Heather studied for her Certification in Public Accounting and was awarded her CPA in 1991. She began her professional career at Ernst & Young in Dallas, Texas. Heather’s career was wide and varied. She worked in the area of internal controls at Pilgrim’s Pride in East Texas; James River Corp. in Richmond, Virginia; Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Georgia; United Surgical Partners and most recently, U.S. Renal Care in Addison and Plano, Texas, respectively. Heather brought an unconditional pursuit of excellence in team building, attention to detail, and personal integrity.
In 1992, Heather met her husband, Scott, on a blind date (a first for both of them). On June 11, 1993, Heather married the love of her life and best friend, Scott Erwin of Dallas, Texas. After five years of marriage, they welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Emma Victoria, in 1998 and three years later, their son, Seth Avery. A devoted Christ follower, Heather grew continually in her faith and sought to share her love for Christ in every aspect of her life. Heather fell in love with the ministry of Compassion International and began sponsoring children all over the world in college. Currently, Heather sponsors five children from Central America, Africa, and Thailand. Heather has been very active in Franklin Graham’s Ministry, Samaritan’s Purse. Heather loved reading, travel, scrapbooking, food and time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Erwin, of Frisco; her children, Emma and Seth; her mother, Kay Glenn of Richardson; siblings: Joel Glenn (Lisa) of Oak Point, Texas; Shawn Hall (Ricky) of Prairieville, Louisiana; as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Glenn, and her in-laws, Raymond and Barbara Jan Erwin.
