Heather Ranker Clark passed away at home on Friday October 21, 2016 at the age of 46. She was surrounded by her family. She had battled Ovarian cancer for nearly eight years, enjoying every day with her sons Jack (11), Luke (10) and her husband Mark.
Heather was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 26, 1970 and moved to Noblesville, Indiana where she attended school. She graduated from Indiana University with a double degree in Journalism and English.
She eventually moved to Chicago where she and Mark met, and she enjoyed going to street festivals, the lakeshore, and the Chicago Cubs.
She moved to Dallas in 2001 and was married to Mark on November 17, 2001 in Cabo San Lucas, which was also one of her favorite vacation locations.
Heather enjoyed horses, rescue greyhounds, travelling, trips to the beach, board games with Jack and Luke, volunteering for field trips and spending time with her sons in any way she could. She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and grew to appreciate the many kind, faithful and friendly members of the congregation.
Heather would always call her husband to tell him about the Texas Bluebonnets lining the highway during her frequent trips to Houston. Springtime in Texas was always a favorite with Heather.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Mark, her sons Jack and Luke, her brother Brian, and her father Charles. Her mother Laurel preceded her in death.
She will be laid to rest in Sparkman Hillcrest cemetery, with services at 1pm at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church on October 26.
Memorials can be made in honor with either the Highland Park Presbyterian Day School or the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas. Both organizations held a special place in her heart.
