Harold McAuley, age 77, passed away on November 20. 2024 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on June 26. 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska to Harold and Mollie McAuley. Harry was raised in South Omaha and often called himself an SOB, South Omaha Boy. He did a lot in his life. He attended several schools, but finally graduated from OSU with his degree. Pretty sure it was in Architecture, and if it wasn’t that’s what he went on to do. After being a furniture mover and driving a rig around the country, he settled down to be an architect. His career with AAFES started around 1986. He accomplished a great deal and got to travel the world. He retired in 2014 and began his new career of relaxing and hanging out with his pets.
He had one daughter, Janelle McAuley, and she was the light of his life.
In his spare time, he enjoyed telling stories, cooking and doing everything in his power to harass his daughter, even long distance. When she was busy, he would turn his harassment to his pupper dog, Coker Ann.
He will be remembered for his humor and especially his laugh. Always cracking jokes and bringing a smile to people’s faces. He was one of the kindest humans around and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his canine kids, Kayla and Oscar. He is survived by his daughter, Janelle, his younger brother Pat McAuley, and his nieces, Michelle and Mollie McAuley.
