Harold "Kirk" Lynn Kirkpatrick

Harold Lynn Kirkpatrick, 76, was born to Harold Floyd Kirkpatrick and Edna Mae Kirkpatrick on January 14, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri. He died peacefully Sunday, June 7, 2015 surrounded by his family. Harold is survived by his loving wife: Joy (Watts) Kirkpatrick; children Kelly Kendall & husband Brad of Fairway, KS, Tracy Smith of McKinney, TX and Courtney Burton & husband Tim of Prosper, TX; grandchildren Grant, Brooks & Lucy Kendall; Chandler Smith; and Jake & Kylee Burton; sister Linda McGilley and brother Richard Kirkpatrick both of Prairie Village, KS. Harold grew up in Kansas City, graduating high school from Pembrook Country Day School in 1957. He attended the University of Kansas and later graduated from Drury College in Springfield, Missouri.

After college, he began a very successful career in the steel industry and retired from Commercial Metals Company in 2011.

“Kirk” enjoyed years of playing golf at Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson, Texas where he resided for 34 years. Kirk’s love and dedication for his family and friends was only matched by his passion for golf, baseball and college basketball.

A celebration of Kirk’s life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kirk’s honor to VNA Collin Branch 5601 Virginia Place suit 1, McKinney, Texas 75071 Attention Elaine Harrison.
