Gregory Patrick Milam was born on March 16, 1958 and on August 23, 2015 scored a fourth quarter touchdown to earn his place of honor in football heaven. Gregory was born to Charlton J. "Chuck" and Anna Katheryn Milam and was raised in Richardson, Texas. He attended and graduated from The Notre Dame of Dallas Special School and The Notre Dame of Dallas Vocational School. The School Sisters of Notre Dame provided Greg with an excellent education and with compassionate guidance, instilled his impeccable values and manners. Greg loved Notre Dame, but his greatest love was for his University of Texas Longhorns.
Gregory is survived by his mother, Anna Katheryn Milam, brother, Michael Milam and spouse Faith, brother, Mark Milam and spouse Michele, brother, Stephen Milam and spouse Kelly, brother, Timothy Milam and sister, Katheryn Milam-Hewson and spouse Hank, nieces, Elisabeth and Kate Milam and Susan Hewson, nephews, Christopher James Milam and Bryan Heard Milam, uncle Myron Lillis, many cousins, and Dorothy Milam. Gregory was employed with Aramark for 35 years, most recently at Truett Café at Baylor University Medical Center. Gregory loved all sports, especially the Texas Longhorns, and any team sport played by The University of Texas, the Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks. For Greg and his teams, no victory was complete, unless it was a shutout and the margin of victory huge.
Gregory watched all sports at all times, especially The Longhorn Network. He loved football games and Mexican dinners in Austin and fancied his occasional beer with a good cigar. He competed in Special Olympics, bowling and basketball, and in tennis leagues. He served as an altar boy and joined the Boy Scouts.
Gregory loved his Irish name and his March birthday. One of Gregory's proudest accomplishments was earning his Texas Driver's License. He enjoyed many vacations and cruises to The Bahamas, San Francisco, Disneyworld and Epcot Center, Cancun, Florida.
The Milam Family extends special thanks to the staff at The Association For Independent Living, the beloved residents of The Storey Lane Chateau, and Gregory's co-workers at Truett Café. Gregory was a devout Catholic and loved his Redeemer.
