Gordon “Skip” Smith passed away on February 10, 2025, at 6:15 pm. Born on June 30, 1942, to Floyd and Marie Hodges Smith, he was a proud 1960 graduate of W.W. Samuel High School. Skip had a deep love for working in the dirt and cherished his trips to the Colorado mountains and Pineville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Skip was a devoted father to Stacey Steelman and Doug Smith, and a loving stepfather to Todd Landwermeyer and Laurie Moore. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Courtney, Katie, Syndney, Samantha, Jacob, Blake, Jace, Danny, and Emma, and his great-grandchildren Conor and Blakelyn.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, located at 1324 Pleasant Dr, Dallas, TX 75217. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
