After serving in the Air Rescue Service in Tacoma, Washington, Glynne returned to Tyler and discovered the love of his life, Bonnie Shelton with whom he shared a happy 63 year marriage.
To provide for his family, Glynne completed his Bachelors In Business Administraion from East Texas State University and worked in the insurance field as an executive adjuster.
For his principle hobby, Glynne enjoyed more than an occasional round of golf. His proudest moment was in 1987 when he scored his first and only hole in one.
Glynne was active in the First Baptist Church of Hurst, where the family joined in 1978 and where he served as a Deacon.
It was after raising his two sons that Glynne and Bonnie began their travel career by taking about a dozen cruises and European vacations with friends from throughout their marriage, but nothing compared to the final chapter in his life. Grandkids, who gave him the name he loved the most, PopPop.
Their final adventure came three years ago, when it became apparent that it was time to move to an Assisted Living Center in Dripping Springs, chosen because it was the most central location for grandkids and great-grandkids visits.
In the end, when Jesus called Pop home, he called a young 86 year-old who left behind a loving legacy, the love of his life whom he shared 63 years of marriage, Bonnie; two sons, Greg and Kyle; seven grandchildren, Kara, David, Joel, Beka, Kendra, Trevor, and Krista; six great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ulrich, Micah, Eleanor, Luca and Briley; two brothers, Cledis and Billy; and a sister, Janice.
