GARDNER, JR., Rev. Msgr. Glenn Duff Reverend Monsignor Glenn Duff Gardner, Jr. or as he was affectionately known, Father Duffy, was a priest of the Diocese of Dallas, having been ordained on May 2, 1970. Father Duffy was born February 13, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Father Duffy attended St. James School in Oak Cliff and graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas in 1962. He served in many parishes throughout the Diocese including St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Elizabeth Seton, St. Mark the Evangelist and most recently St. Martin of Tours Parish, Forney. He studied Canon Law and received his doctorate in Rome, Italy in 1977. He also served as Vicar General of the Diocese and continued to work in the Diocesan Tribunal. Father Duffy will always be remembered for his quick wit and humor and his compassion and service to the people throughout the Diocese and beyond. He is preceded (2012) in death by his brother Thomas Gardner and survived by his two sisters Marileone Gardner Merkle, Judith Gardner Carlson and five nieces and four nephews. Those wishing to pay their respects may visit from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Saturday May 7th in the chapel of Ted Dickey West Funeral Home 8011 Frankford Rd. Dallas, TX 75252 and Sunday May 8th from 9 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. On Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Father Duffy will be in state at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church 9470 County Road 213, Forney 75126. A rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. led by Reverend T. Michael Dugan. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Rd. Plano, TX 75075 with Most Reverend Kevin J. Farrell, Bishop of Dallas, presiding. Most Reverend Gregory Kelly and brother priests of the Diocese - Concelebrating. The graveside will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Priests' Circle of Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX.
