

Gilbert was born in Dallas Texas on August 22, 1944, to Pedro Silva and Francisca Escamilla Trevino. He graduated from Jesuit High School in 1963 playing Varsity football all 4 years. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1968. Gil was married to Pauline Denise Lucas on December 27, 1968; they were married 54 years.
Gil was an entrepreneur and owned his own brokerage and manufacturing company named GTT Electronics for 17 years. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1973 and received an honorable discharge as a Captain. He enjoyed sports, especially football, racquetball and handball, movies, chess, road trips and especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete in sport. He loved capturing all his children’s sports and activities, as well as family events on video. He was also actively involved in USA Soccer, a non-profit that supported soccer scholarships for under privileged youth which he donated to over the years.
Gil is preceded in death by Francisco Trevino Moya, Refugia Santos Silva, Pedro Trevino Silva, Francisca Escamilla Lopez, Santos Trevino, Reyes Trevino, Margaret Trevino, Pedro Trevino Jr., Taurino Escamilla, Placida Lopez Escamilla, Jose Escamilla, Beatrice Escamilla, Reymundo Escamilla, Juan Escamilla, Marian Lucas, Paul Lucas, Victor Lucas, David Lucas.
Gil is survived by Pauline Trevino his wife, his son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Kara Trevino, grandchildren, Copper West, Sage and Zenna Trevino. Daughters, Christina Trevino, Anna Maria Trevino and Amelinda Trevino. His brother and sister-in-law Isaac and Rebecca Trevino, nieces and nephews Teresa and Louis Risolio and their children Louis II, Gabriel and Caleb, Philip and Carolyn Trevino and their children Colin, Grace and Evangeline, Gina and John Kukal, Sara Trevino and Matt Sandusky and their children Lucia and Samuel Trevino Sandusky, Lara Trevino and Arjun Mahalingham and their son Rishi Trevino Mahalingham, Marcos and Patricia Trevino and their children Isabella and Santiago. His brother-in-law Peter Lucas and his children Katherine Minyard and their child Marian and Emily and Travis Suggs and their children Lilly and Charlie, Melissa and Mike Weber, Christopher and Paul Lucas, Mason and Erica and their children Seth, Mia, Gauge and Corbin and other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 6-11pm at 1013 East 15th St Plano, TX 75074. Inurnment will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas, TX 75211.
