Georgie D. Mason

Georgie D. Mason, R.N. Georgie was born on August 25, 1914 to Thomas Mason and Carrie Clark Mason in Foreman, Arkansas. She passed away on June 23, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Ashdown, Arkansas High School and from the University of Tennessee School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. Georgie proudly served her country during World War II in the Navy Nurse Corps, Lt. j. g. She was retired from Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in 1977. She was a member of Oak Lawn United Methodist Church. Georgie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Raymond, Paul, and Thomas Mason, and one sister, Freda Mason Miller. She is survived by a sister, Ruble Mason, and a special friend, Mary Frank Phillips of Dallas and also several nephews, nieces and friends. Visitation will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, on Thursday, June 24th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held there on Friday, June 25th at 12:00 p.m. A graveside service and burial will be held at the Richmond Cemetery near Ashdown, Arkansas on Saturday, June 26th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, 3014 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75219 or VNA Hospice, 1440 W.
