George was the first person we met when touring 5-Star.  He had just come from a foreign language class and told us he would take Swahili if they offered it because you must keep your mind active.  We moved in to 5-Star and always enjoyed having dinner with George and Evelyn.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Adena. Although I didn't know your father well, I remember him as a quiet gentleman with intelligent eyes and a kind smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

I clearly missed getting to meet a truly great and inspiring guy.  His legacy and life lessons clearly live on in his children and grandchildren.  What a gift.

While we were saddened to hear of George's passing, we celebrate his good and long life.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his bride of 66 years, Evelyn, and his entire family.  He will be remembered fondly and lives on in the stories, memories & photos of those who knew and loved him. he was a great guy and very generous and encouraging to me and my family, especially in our service overseas in development activities. I wish he could have gone on and on and on. My dad Cecil H. Smith knew him as a good friend as well as a stock market guru. I hope I can be as open and interested in life as he was.

My relationship with George Smith and his wife, Evelyn, was very meaningful to me. There is a quote from some celebrity whose name eludes me and it aptly applies to my feeling at this time concerning the passing of this gentleman - 'I don't have to believe it if I don't want to'.
