George (G.C.) Edmondson, was born January 20, 1921 in Kanawha, Texas to Samuel Martin and Hattie Elizabeth Edmondson, and passed away July 18, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Edmondson retired as a supervisor from Southland Corporation after many years of operating seven stores in the Garland area. Preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ronald D. Edmondson. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vista Edmonson; his sister, Mary Virginia Dungan and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Edmondson will lie in state at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Funeral services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel East of Hillcrest Mausoleum, Rev. Larry Davis, officiating. Entombment to follow Hillcrest Mausoleum.
