Fisherman and entertainer are just a few of the words that can be used to describe Frank Chambers. In the early 70’s, Frank was featured repeatedly in articles in the Dallas Times Herald regarding his freshwater fishing exploits on many of the North Texas area lakes. For several years he could be seen presenting fishing clinics at the Dallas Boat Show and many sportsman shows throughout the Dallas area.
Not shy at being in the spotlight, Frank loved singing and playing the guitar. In his younger days, he had his own radio show in his home town. He also made several singing appearances on the Big D Jamboree in Dallas. He also owned the Texas Opra in Garland.
Frank owned and operated All Brands Air Conditioning and Heating, servicing the Dallas metropolitan area in the late 60’s and 70’s. His entrepreneurial spirit led to many business endeavors including a fishing lure company, residential and commercial insulation company and Investors Brokerage Services, a commercial real estate company in North Dallas.
A true jack-of-all-trades, there was nothing he could not fix or repair. He would say, “The only thing I can’t fix is a broken heart”.
Frank Chambers was an encouraging father. He enjoyed “being there” and supporting all activities and sporting events his three sons participated in. He was a good boxer and bowler.
Frank was born in 1934 in Quanah, Texas to Henry Chambers and Laura Keith Chambers. He was the youngest of nine children. He had three sons. Two of his sons, Frank Jr. and Tim, preceded him in death. His son, Josh Chambers, and his wife Kathy live in Kent, Washington. They have two sons, Matt and Tim. He is survived by his wife, Donna.
