Frank Ruiz Torres, 79, of Dallas, passed away at home on May 14, 2016. Rosary will be Thursday, May 19, 7 p.m. and visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Friday May 20, 10 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Dallas with Father Michael Dugan officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Arrangements are by Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
Frank was born in Dallas, Texas, to Enrique Torres and Eduvijes Ruiz Torres on July 12, 1936. He attended school at St. Mary of Carmel in Dallas and married Mary Lucinda Zuniga on November 22, 1953 at St. Mary's. He worked as a carpenter and as a security guard for many years. His family was his true work and when you needed something fixed, people depended on "Dedo".
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, and by his daughter Lucy, sisters, Mary and Ada and brothers, Richard and Joe.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Lucinda Torres, by his children Rick Torres, Henry Torres and spouse Netty, Marina Torres, and Argentina Mooney and spouse Michael. The grandchildren are Clara Torres, Anthony Torres and spouse Iris, Crystal Palomo, Charlie Torres and spouse Erika, Joseph Torres, Evelyn Torres, SSGT Henry Torres Jr. and spouse Holly, Jennifer Gonzalez and spouse Rick, Sarah Torres, John Torres, Luciano Martinez, Priscilla Martinez, Arnold Mooney and David Mooney and 22 Great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Fr. Dugan, family and friends for all their prayers and support especially in these past months.
