I was so blessed to see Mingo and family in early 2012 - it had been so many years.  He was like a brother to my late father, Leon Pena - and my father loved him dearly.  My sadness in his passing is lessened because I know he is in heaven with loved ones I still miss so much - his loving parents and brother, my father and my brother, Leon Jr.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr Pena's passing. It was so nice to meet him a few years ago at the Mulberry Cemetery. He was a wonderful man and so enjoyed coming back to his childhood days. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Words can't express my heartfelt sorrow for your loss.  Your dad was a wonderful man, and will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this time of mourning.  We lost a great man, but gained another in Angel in heaven.

My loving Tio Frank....where do I begin. He was the uncle that was there when I lost my father when I was only nine years old. I had other uncles but he stood out,  I don't have memories of my father but I do with my Tio Frank. 

He welcomed us all, six children and a widow, in his home after my Dad died. Mom just couldn't go home, she needed time.

When I had my communion he stepped in for my brothers and father. He offered to be there if ever a Father and Daughter dance event came up. 

When I married he and my Tia Annie were my sponsors, he stood right by me and represented the mature man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, with a man like him. 

He was a man that didn't care about outer possessions. Although with his Patsy he gave her the world nothing was too hard to achieve.  

He gained two sons and gave them love and stability.  He cared and taught them to be gentlemen, to be polite, respectful and considerate of others feelings. All which was within his internal character. 

He approached problems calmly with collected mannerism. I never saw him angry he never raised his voice, he demonstrated self confidence, and integrity which were true to his words.

He had a positive attitude in life even during his treatments. Even then he'd smile and brighten up his surroundings and greeted everyone around him. He made better any situation or circumstance that came his way. 

He did not deter from what he believed to be true, he was honest and spoke with genuine words from his heart. 

There aren't enough words to express my love for him. He was the one good man I could look up to.

He filled that hole in my life
and I will forever hold him dear to my heart. I love him now and forever.  Your niece Sara Gomez

Tio Mingo I will always love him, I miss him dearly. He filled the role of the father I never knew. He was always there when I needed council and guidance. Thank you tio.
