Rodney was born in Fort Worth, TX November 22, 1953, and retired from a lifetime of being a mechanic in the Dallas/Mesquite area.
At a young age, Rodney’s interest in cars and motorcycles fueled his lifelong career as a mechanic. He also loved classic rock and guitar players, which again inspired his own passion for playing guitar. Posters of cars, motorcycles, and guitar players were showcased throughout his home and garage. Rodney treasured his family and friends and always talked about days gone by and the great times they shared.
After retiring Rodney poured all his energy into maintaining his treasured vehicles and home. One look at his Harley and you can see the love and passion he had for it.
Rodney was preceded in death by his mother Faye Marie Sanders Bargainer, father Howard Odell Ford, aunt Myrtle Francis McAfee, and friends (Juno (Raymond Charles Leehy, Jr.) and “Big Jim” Jim Leal).
Rodney is survived by his stepfather Vernon Lee Bargainer; daughter Alison Atchley, son-in-law Larry Atchley, Jr., and granddaughter Leila Robinson; daughter Amber Ford Vu, son-in-law Bao Vu, and granddaughter Belén Vu; brothers Howard “Spud” Blanton and wife Eve; Michael Odell Blanton, Sr. and wife Patricia; William “Billy” Albert Ford; sister Dana Marie Ford Walter and brother-in-law Elmer Walter; and brother Thomas Eugene “Gene” Ford; aunt Joan Fisher, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
