Frank James Elkins, age 82, of Oak Point, Texas, born March 15, 1942, entered into heaven’s rest Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1960 and from Arlington Bible Baptist Seminary (now Arlington Baptist College) in 1966. He loved his family and enjoyed working hard for them. He was married to Mary Louise Elkins for 61 years. He expressed his love by working with his hands. He made toys for the grandchildren and games for the family so they could enjoy being together. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with the family. He worked at Central Freight Lines for 42 years. After retirement he drove a bus for the Denton Independent School District for 11 years. His favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:28 “And I know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon Davis Elkins Jr. and Alice Louise Holder, his sister Marie Havard, his brothers Harmon Davis Elkins III and Ralph Elkins.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary, his son Mark Elkins and wife Sherry, his daughters Charlotte Hughes and husband James and Myra Ortmann, his 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his brother Paul Elkins and wife Becky, and his sisters Louise Clements, Ann Martin and Linda Barnes and husband David.
