Frank Dominguez, Jr. was born July 11, 1941 in Elgin, Texas to Catherine and Frank Dominguez, Sr. He was the eldest of 7 children; of which 5 brothers and sisters are still living. He was raised in Austin, Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. He later moved to Dallas, Texas where he spent the rest of his life. There, he met his loving wife, Petra Betty Dominguez.
He was honorably discharged after proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army in the 1960’s during which time he was stationed in Vietnam. He later graduated with a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Texas in Arlington. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard of Texas. Early in his career, he began firming the in architectural industry until he joined the City of Dallas, where he retired as an Urban Planner.
He was a very loving and encouraging family man. One could always go to him for advice. He made time for you, and always placed the needs of his family before his. No matter what time of day, he was always there to listen, comfort, nurture and counsel. He was an exemplary father figure and was looked up to by his entire extended family. Those who had the honor to meet Frank knew he was unique in that he was a very humble, gentle and kind soul. They were very fond of him and would always have something kind to say about him. He was a great husband and excellent father. He is loved and will be missed.
Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty and their 2 children, Frank Dominguez III and Marie Katherine Dominguez. He had a daughter-in-law, Cora and grand-daughter, Yan Yan.
