Frank Hernandez Alonzo of Irving, Texas, age 91, was born February 9, 1931, in Dallas, Texas to Ysidro and Rita Alonzo. He passed away into the loving arms of his Lord on October 27, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his dear wife Rachel Alonzo; his parents; brothers Braulio Alonzo and Herman Alonzo; sisters Josefina Salinas, Florentina Rodriguez, Trinidad Martinez, and Carmen Fuentes; and granddaughter Angela Marie Alonzo.
He is survived by sons Frank C. Alonzo and Steven C. Alonzo and stepson Luther Castro all of Irving, Texas; daughter Felicia Kelly and husband Russell of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter-in-law Debra Alonzo of Fort Worth; granddaughter Jessica Chester and husband Michael of Fort Worth; great granddaughter Elizabeth “Libby” Chester; and a host of many other loved family and friends.
Frank served as a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in the years of 1954 through 1956. In 1956, He married his dear wife Rachel Cervantes, whom he cherished until she preceded him in death in 2015. He worked as a Plastics Fabricator at Bell Helicopter for more than 30 years as well as a security guard for Wackenhunt Security. In his spare time Frank enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, Boxeo, and spending time with his family. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and a server at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where he attended for many years. In retirement Frank often stated his favorite pass time was watching TV with his eyes closed. Frank was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. He was a hard worker who loved his family, and he taught us all many things except how to live without him.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 2 from 4-8 pm with a Rosary being held at 6:30 pm at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Dallas. Chapel Services will be held on Thursday, November 3 at 1:30 pm at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Dallas followed by Interment at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
