Mrs. Floy Jewell Hathcock Garland

Age 68, died July 19, 2017, at 9:16 pm surrounded by her family at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. Floy lived in Kemp, TX for the last 23 years. Floy was born April 13, 1949 in Ennis, TX to Homer & Jewell Hathcock. Floy left this earth way too soon. Her gentle touch, sweet voice, constant encouragement and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was short, but her heart was bigger than the entire United States. Friends and family are going to miss her saying, “Well, How Are Y’all Doing?” with a sweet southern twang, as a huge smile flashed across her face and knowing she truly wanted to hear about the latest happenings in your life. She only had kind words to say about everyone. Floy is survived by her loving husband Raymond, of 44 years, two daughters, Lisa Hafley of Kemp, Misty Garland of Mesquite; grandsons Steven and Jeremy Hafley, and Christopher Fant; granddaughters: Caycee Garland, Jessica Ofczarzak, Hayley Fant, Amber Garland; eight great grandchildren: Jayden Liam Hafley, Jayce Dean Hafley, Khloe Ray Jewell Hafley, Khyla Rae Garland, Emma Lee Garland, Luna Evelyn Knode, Jesse Tyler Sims and Tyce Lee Sims, as well as her devoted sister Dorothy Henson and daughter-in-law, Kendra Garland, with a number of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Numerous nieces and nephews, along with many loving friends will also greatly miss her. In addition, to the Lord, her sons, Baby Boy Parker & Kevin Ray Garland; sisters: Francis Monroe & Joy Snyder; niece Cheryl Anderson; parents: Homer & Jewell Hathcock welcomed her into Heaven. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday July 26, Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6000 S. RL Thornton Frwy. Dallas, TX. Family, friends and visitors will say their final goodbyes at 2 pm, Thursday July 27, Laurel Land Funeral Home with a graveside interment to follow.
