Flora Lee France of Lewisville, Texas, born to Fletcher Usrey and Liddie (Wilson) Usrey on July 27, 1911 in Itasca, Texas, passed away at home on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the age of 103. Mrs. France graduated from high school in 1930 as a resident of Buckner Orphans' Home. She began working at the Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas, Texas as a cashier in the restaurant. Later she worked for Evert's Jewelers in Dallas as a cashier. Mrs. France retired from the Texas State Department of Welfare in 1977 at the age of 66. She was a longtime member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church prior to moving to Lewisville, Texas with her daughter, Jean in 1970. Mrs. France was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bert) Lee France, Jr.; four brothers: Henry, Bennis, Loyd, and Fred and her younger sister, Marie. She is survived by her daughters: Jean Marie Iser and Linda Lee France; her grandchildren: Dona Paust and husband, Kenneth, and Mark Singley and wife, Pauline; her great grandchildren: Rachel Butts, Stephanie Murphree and husband, Nicholas Wayne, Rebecca Singley and Garrett Singley; her great-great grandson, Nicholas William Murphree, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held the evening before from 4-8 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
