Funeral services will be held on February 1st at Calvary Hill Funeral home beginning with visitation at 11:30 am, followed by a sermon. Visitation will be followed by a graveside service with Military Honors at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
Fil was born in Dallas,Texas. He was a graduate of Harvard University and Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts and practiced law in both Massachusetts and Kansas for many years.
He was a Vietnam War era veteran and served in the Army followed by an honorable discharge, before enrolling in Harvard and moving to Boston, Massachusetts.
Fil is preceded in death by his father, Filemon Valdez, his grandmother, Victoria Valdez, and older brother Rigoberto Valdez.
Fil is survived by his mother, Doris Valdez, daughter Sinead Willard, siblings Aaron Valdez, Tino Valdez, and Michel Fusella. He also leaves behind 3 grandsons, his loving companion, Donna Armstrong and his best friend, Deirdre McDonnell.
Fil lived a happy life, in his own words "He believed himself most lucky to belong to such a loving family."
