Faustino “Tino” Hernandez was born in McAllen, TX on March 26, 1947, and passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on February 3, 2022. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching sports, primarily his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and loved to dance.
Tino is survived by his wife Dalia, his daughter, Theresa and her husband Robert, daughter Katherine, her husband Erick, daughter Stella and significant-other Michael, and daughter Melissa and significant-other Anthony. His beautiful grandchildren; Kevin, Marissa, Jay, Daniel, Amaya, Isabell, Jayden, Ava, Michael Jr., and Layla. Great-grandchildren; Serenity, Ariana, Mila, Miliana, Izreal, Leilani, Jasmine, and Lorenzo.
In addition to his mother Faustina Mancilla Hernandez-Martinez, he is survived by brother Jose Valentin “Tin” Hernandez, sisters: Alicia Garcia, Virginia Mireles, Inez Martinez, Martha Ybarra, Mary “Peedie” Martinez, Rosalinda Garcia, and Maria Linares. Brother-in-laws; Sam Mireles, and Lidio Martinez.
Preceded in death, father, Juan Frausto Hernandez, step-father, Jessie Martinez, brother Juanio Hernandez and sister Esther Abelino.
Tino was an exceptional man. A hard worker since the age of fourteen until he fully retired in December of 2021. He touched many lives and treated everyone with kindness and compassion. He will be missed for his warm welcome, smile, memorable laugh and his positive energy. His love for his family was very well known and the love received from him will be carried on as he lives forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232. The Rosary (prayer) will begin promptly at 6:00pm. We are asking for everyone to please wear Tino's favorite team, Dallas Cowboys attire.
The mass will be Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 1809 W Davis St, Dallas, TX 75208. Immediately following the mass, the burial will conclude at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232. Attire for the funeral business casual/semi-formal.
