Ezequiel “Zeke” Joaquin Ramirez, age 43, of Garland, Texas, a loving husband and father, sadly passed away on August 17, 2023, after a long lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on July 26, 1980, in Ontario, Oregon, to Alfredo and Guadalupe. He moved to Texas in 1995. Zeke always said he was destined to be a Texan. As a young child, he wore cowboy-type clothing and boots. He was a hard worker and ended up being promoted to a general manager for Atlantic Aviation, where he worked for more than 21 years. He enjoyed his job and co-workers.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ana, children: Elissa and Ezequiel Jr., his mother Guadalupe, stepfather Esteban, siblings: Alfredo II, Sergio (Karla), Carolina (Jay), stepsister Jennifer (Rolando), & stepbrother Stevie, many nephews and nieces; additional family members: father & mother-in-law Juan & Eva, sister & brother-in-law: Maria, Elizabeth (George), Rosie (Alex), Juanita, and many nephews & nieces; numerous other family relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Alfredo.
Zeke did not let his cancer diagnosis stop him from living. He maintained a positive attitude throughout his illness and showed more concern for his wife and kids. He loved praising their accomplishments and spending quality time with them was his #1 priority. He was their protector and provider at all times. He was a handyman and could fix anything. He was an amazing cook who embraced his Mexican heritage. He enjoyed watching many cooking shows. Hoped to one day become a chef. In addition, he was the master of grilling. His favorite sport teams were the Dallas Cowboys, Oregon Ducks, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, and Dallas Mavericks. Growing up, he played many sports: soccer, baseball, and basketball. When his son was in Baseball Little League, he coached several of his teams, receiving many recognitions and trophies. He loved all types of movies, including quoting his favorite lines. In his spare time, he would play Nintendo video games, watch Ridiculousness, or online shopping. He was an Apple iPhone fanatic. He had the love for new cars and trucks of the year. Loved fishing and booking half day guided trips. He liked planning weekend getaways to build new memories. He enjoyed listening to all types of music: 80s, Rock, Rap, Latin & Old School Hip Hop, Old R&B, Country, Norteno, Mariachi, Cumbias, and Tejano. He was also a huge fan of Selena Quintanilla. His family and friends will describe Zeke as lively, strong, sweet, caring, courageous, and funny, with a great sense of humor. Zeke was the life of the party; everyone enjoyed his company. He always had a will to help those in need, especially when it came to his family. Overall, Zeke had many great qualities. On his final moments Zeke was not ready to let go, he fought until the end!
His passing is with great sadness to all his family and friends. He will be in our thoughts always and forever missed.
