Evelyn M. Guerrero

Evelyn Marie Guerrero, 76, was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 31, 1938 to Fernando Travieso and Beatrice Trevino Travieso. Evelyn is known for her high energy, enthusiasm, and crafting skills. She loved to stay active—from cooking her famous Sunday family brunches to swimming, walking, and gardening. Her life took many careers, all of which she excelled. Amongst various professions and achievements, she was most proud of her many years of voluntary service at St. Pius X and St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as her career at the Guerrero Law Offices as a Marketing Director. She became a member of the Mother Cabrini Circle and Chair Woman of the Annual Fundraiser, taught as a daycare and pre-school teacher at St. Pius X, as well as having become a beloved member of the Candle of Ministry at St. Joseph’s. Evelyn is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by Humberto Gonzalez Guerrero, Sr., her beloved husband of over 55 years; children, Roxane Guerrero of Dallas, TX, Laura Guerrero of Mandeville, LA, Humberto Guerrero, Jr. of Austin, TX, Stephen Guerrero, Sr. of Midlothian, TX; grandchildren, Micaela Hamilton, Stephen Beatty, Jr., Ariana Hamilton, Danielle Beatty, Rebecca Beatty, Marcela Guerrero, Humberto Guerrero III, Georgine Guerrero, Adrian Guerrero and Stephen Guerrero, Jr.; sister, Beatrice Shuffield. She has joined her sister Sophia Blanquez and brother Jose Fernando Travieso to be with the Lord. Visitation will be held at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 between 4PM – 8PM with a Rosary at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on 600 S. Jupiter Road, Richardson, TX 75081 on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 10:30AM. Entombment will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery with a reception to follow at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to donate may do so to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
