On Saturday, December 24, 2022, Eva Doris Bell entered the gates of Heaven to be reunited with her parents, Doris and Walter Bell, her brothers, Clarence and Charlie, step-father Charles Davis, and the love of her life, David Dilelio. Eva was born in Dallas on July 31, 1950. Eva grew up in a closely knit, loving family who faithfully attended Central Church of the Nazarene. Music was Eva’s gift. She played the piano and organ for the church and sang beautifully. She graduated from W. W. Samuel High School and received her Masters of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
Eva began working for “the telephone company” in high school and continued her career with AT&T until her retirement in 1998. Her career began in Dallas and took her to Missouri, Colorado and California. Eva traveled extensively for work and pleasure. Ten years ago, Eva returned to Dallas from California to care for her mother. She realized Texas was her home sweet home.
Eva was filled with much joy and positivity. She greatly enjoyed being with her cousins, Sharon Byrd Smith, Karen Byrd Fitzhugh and their delightful families. She listened to Pastor Robert Carter’s Sunday sermons and spent time with his wife, Judy, and her twin and longtime friend, Edie Hammons. Therese and Phil Crispell were especially close to Eva, along with their sons, Eric and Kevin. She rarely missed one of their baseball games. Eva had so much fun with her spa girlfriends. She shared many adventures over the years with Mary Ann Evans and her husband Phil. During the last few years, Eva enjoyed spending time with high school classmates and her very dear friend and neighbor, Kathryn Blandford. And these are just a few of her friends. Eva was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Eva made our world a brighter, better place. Her life was well lived with moments sweet and sad, with smiles and sometimes tears, with friendships formed and good times shared and laughter through the years. Eva leaves a legacy of joy, a loving lasting memory our grateful hearts will treasure.
The funeral service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 10:00 am, followed by the interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
