Ethel Seal Goss was born on May 21, 1933, to George and Vernie Farris in Ava, Missouri. She was the 5th of 7 children. She passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023. She is survived by her son, John Seal and his wife, Carole, and their two children, Michelle (husband, Tim) and Johnny (wife, Heather) and by her daughter, Catherine Seal Zellers and her husband Tom, and their daughter Caitrin. Ethel was also blessed with several wonderful great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Ethel was a wonderful, friendly, and giving person with a strong faith in God. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her friends and neighbors, her front porch a frequent stopping place for coffee, jokes, and stories. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. In fact, she spent several years making hundreds of children-sized quilts for children with heart defects in Honduras, distributed through a charitable foundation. Ethel also enjoyed gardening, cards, and word puzzles, was a bit of a collector and has an enviable collection of thimbles from the United States and countries around the world.
Ethel will be missed by all who knew her. She will be buried in Payette, Idaho, next to her late husband, Bobby Seal.
