Enrique G. Diaz, Sr. was born October 14, 1947 in Dallas Texas and passed from this life on August 07, 2015. Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. He is survived by his wife Juanita Nuncio Diaz of 40 years, sons Enrique Diaz Jr., Charles Ray Diaz, Robert Nuncio, and daughters, Dianne Lambert, Belinda Diaz, Marisa Nuncio, Monique Nuncio, Raquel Nuncio, brother Raymond Diaz, Jr. and his wife Lupita, sister Connie Ramirez and her husband Tony, brother Ventura Diaz, sister Julia Vela and her husband Juan, sister Christina Rivas and husband Martin, sister Elizabeth Roberson and her husband Dave, sister Lucinda Vanhoof and her husband Matt and sister-in-law, Janie Diaz. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Julia Diaz, and brothers, John, Antonio, Robert, Gilbert, and Ralph Diaz. Pallbearers will be Giovanni Villa, Robert Nuncio, Benjamin Diaz, Adam Vela, Ralph Diaz Jr.and John Ramirez. Enrique served in the United States Army beginning in 1967. He was a member of the 16th Engineer Battalion 1st Armored Division. While serving in Vietnam he was a Combat Engineer and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman Weapons Qualification Badges as Sharpshooter in Rifle and Expert in Grenade. After his tour in Vietnam he served in the Army Reserves. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday August 17, 2015 at Gonzalez Funeral Home with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at St. Mary of Carmel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
