Elmer grew up in Arlington, Texas amongst 8 siblings; Andrew, Roland, Ava, Hazel, Elsie, Hugh, Rita and twin Zelma. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1958.
Elmer was known to his family, friends and loved ones as always being sincere and willing to help others. Which is what made him such a wonderful police officer. He was awarded Officer of the Year in 1971. He worked for the Fort Worth Police Department from 1967 until he retired in 1994. He acquired the loving nicknames of Tiger, Rae and Starr.
Elmer loved to play guitar and singing county music. He loved to fish and would spend hours on Lake Arlington. He loved to watch baseball, football, feed chickens and gather their fresh eggs.
His favorite movie was Wizard of Oz and TV show Jeopardy. His favorite thing to do in life was being a policeman.
He will remembered for his amazing personality and his gift to make people laugh.
Elmer Rae Starr is preceded in death by his parents William A. Starr and Sallie D. Starr. All of his 8 siblings and a great granddaughter Audrey.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two daughters Marti Stone and Shelley Carter.
Grandchildren, Ryan, Misty and Bobbi. Seven beloved great grandchildren; Brandon, Summer, Abigail, Jackson, Klayton, Hunter and Evolette.
