Betty was born on February 6, 1937 in Rosedale, New York to Charles and Gladys Post; the oldest of two children. She grew up in Rosedale which was located in the borough of Queens and a short train ride into New York City. Following high school she worked a part time job at a bank in New York City.
Spending the day with a close friend in Central Park they met two men in army uniforms. One of which became her husband, Richard of 58 years.
After marrying Richard and Betty lived for a short time in his home state of Illinois. They eventually moved back to New York to be closer to Betty’s parents and to take over running a second Snow Ski retail shop. While building the business on Long Island, New York they were blessed with two children David and Vickie.
Having their summer and retirement home built in Eastern Pennsylvania they enjoyed relaxing on their screened in porch, boating and entertaining friends.
After shutting down the business they decided to move to Texas and be with their daughter and son, and resided in Plano. As both she and Richard could no longer drive, they decided to look into independent living communities and joined the residents of the Conservatory in 2012. It was here that they made many new friends who love them both.
Betty will be best remembered for always having a smile on her face and a positive attitude despite all the various medical issues that she was dealing with. She was an inspiration to many, especially her family.
