March 17, 1962 - February 2, 2021
Beth Roberson went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 2, 2021. She was surrounded by family and her closest friends during her final days.
Beth was born in Lexington, KY, to Peggy and Dale Osborne. She spent her childhood in Virginia, London, Illinois and New York, before settling in Dallas in 1973. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1979, where she was a Captain of the Drill Team. She graduated from Baylor University in 1983 with a degree in Biology after which, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Business. At Baylor, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority where she made lifelong friends. There she also met Bart, her husband of 31 years. After graduation, she worked as Budget Director for Children’s Medical Center Dallas. Soon thereafter, Beth turned her attention to raising her children, Meg and John.
Those closest to Beth will remember her for her soft spokenness, loyalty, kindness, and patience. She was a prayer warrior who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith in God drew her to Bible Study Fellowship where she ministered to women in the Dallas area. Additionally, she taught Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible School at Northwest Bible Church and Stonebriar Community Church. She loved being a room mom for both of her children while they were attending Trinity Christian Academy and spent her time volunteering with her children through the National Charity League and Young Men’s Service League.
Though the past seven years were challenging, Beth was determined to live life to the fullest. She maintained her love of writing poems for friends and family, solving crossword puzzles, and long walks with the dogs. Her family spent quality time with her that not many are afforded. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Monica, Ellen, and Chris for their wonderful care of Beth.
Beth is survived by her husband, John Barton Roberson, along with their children Margaret Roberson Korbitz, husband Garrett Lyndon Korbitz, and John Barton Roberson, Jr., her brothers James Douglas Osborne and Phillip Keith Osborne, her sister-in-law Leesa Roberson Davis and husband Billy Michael Davis, her nephews Michael Tucker Davis and Hunter Reed Davis, wife Gretchen Davis, and her beloved Father-in-Law John Wesley Roberson. She is preceded in death by her mother Margaret Helen Osborne, her father Dale Keith Osborne, her Mother-in-law Sandra Swinney Roberson.
A memorial service will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 10:00 am. A private graveside service will be at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Please note that the service will take place in the main sanctuary with masks required and social distancing enforced.
