Mrs. Eleanor Patt was educated in the Paul Breaux High School District in Louisiana. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Later in life, she moved to Dallas, TX, and married the love of her life, Joseph Hebert Patt. This union brought a combined, beautiful family together making her a proud mother of five children.
Mrs. Eleanor Patt was so lovingly known as “Madear”. She was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loving mother-in-law who unselfishly dedicated her life to others. She was well respected and has received many accolades, certificates, and merits for her outstanding work in the community. She helped to establish the DART bus transportation so that all of the community arrived safely to and from destinations. She organized the neighborhood crime watch, had stop signs and speed bumps added to our streets to ensure safety in our community. She tirelessly petitioned to have upgrades made in our community. She instilled the value of education into anyone in her presence. She was a devoted caretaker of so many and she will be sorely missed. She was the pioneer and matriarch of our family.
Madear entered into eternal rest and received her crown on October 13, 2021.
She leaves to cherish and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Joseph Hebert Patt. Her children, Kirk Patt (Ava), Marcus Eaglin (Sherry), Roxanne Eaglin, Ella Mae Young (Monty) and her youngest son, Eric Joseph Patt, Sr. (Rachel). Ray Patt, Henrietta Patt, Elliott Patt and Michelle Patt and their families.
She will leave behind siblings, Herbert Joseph Eaglin, Jr. (Barbara) Donald Eaglin (Angela) Renella Broglin (Flemming), Darryl Benjamin (Linda), Mary Benjamin, Prunella (Ann) Francois.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Wilferd Ray (Hawk) and Edward Joseph Eaglin (Didi). She is also survived by her 16 grand children, Ambra Butler (Adrion), Avante’ Sheffield ,LaTrez Simon, Marshe’ Washington, De’Vonte’ Eaglin, Nykeesha Boudoin, Raven Symone Hutchins, O’Thasshus Koyan Patt, Teko’a Sharnai Young, Joseph Don Patt (Rosina), Essence Mone’ Patt, Tamera Stephens, Eric Joseph Patt, II and Courtland McQueen.
Madear had 21 great grandchildren. Audri Butler, August Butler, Andreas Simon, Samidre’ Washington, Jamiyah Wilson, Courrion Smith, De’Arious Burns, De’Aria Burns, De’Andrea Logan, Karlei Journet, Karlos Journet, Jr., Karter Journet, KyngHussel Boudoin, Ni’kiyah Thierry, Toyreon Hutchins, Kyndenn Logan Hutchins, Legacy Manning, London Colette Patt, Koyan Nissim Patt, Royal Zaire Saunders-Patt, and Quinton Campbell Jr.
