I remember her wedding shower. It was held in AUNT Caddy s house, my grandmother. I remember unwrapping a gift from her mom and thinking how beautiful it was. It was a pure white nightgown and robe with matching slippers. I remember thinking that when I get married I hope my mom would give me the same thing. She got many presents that day but some were odd, one was pillows for the bed, an iron and an ironing board, I don’t know why I thought they were odd I just did. When I was about 10 years old she had gotten a black English racer bicycle, it was a little bit too big for her and being that I was about 4 inches taller than she was her mom and dad gave it to me, of course with the Elain’s permission . I loved that bike. And they were many times many times over the years that we would spend some nice quality time with she and Bill. My husband BILL and I stayed at their house in Plano Texas for a weekend, we were going to my sons Air Force Boot Camp graduation in San Antonio, which gave us a great opportunity to spend time with them. She and I would call each other, I live in Florida, about once every three months to catch up but the most special conversation we had ever had was the Thursday before she passed , we hadn’t talked in about six or seven months at that time, I guess life just got in the way, but out of the clear blue sky she called me that Thursday evening we must’ve spoke for four hours just laughing and reminiscing about our lives growing up and the family. When I hung up the phone I said to my husband BILL wow that was a great surprise Elaine and I spoke about getting together again either we would go to Texas or they would come here to Florida but we would try to spend a week with each other and just  have a grand old time, the next call I got was two or three days later telling me that she had passed. I couldn’t believe it she sounded amazing on the phone call so Up beat and full of life as always. I will miss her forever. Love cousin Patty. 

We (Jim and I) think about Elaine (&Bill) very often.  We have the photo from a recent cruise where we are all posing and obviously  having a great time.  We have this framed photo that Elaine sent to us on our uh, uh Bar, so we see it fairly often and have wonderful memories of the two of them and the wonderful times over the many years that we have spent together. A smile always come to my face when Elaine enters my mind.  We had good times together.  She brought 2 month old baby Brian to my apartment to celebrate the New Year.  I watched Laura when she went into the hospital to give birth to my godson Tom.  So much fun was had at Black Point Beach Club in Ct.  The last time I saw 
Elaine and Bill was a few years back when we traveled to Utah to visit our daughter Nicole.  We met them in Dallas as we had done
years earlier and shared a great dinner and super conversation.
They are both missed as they brought good times and happiness
into their friends lives.

Just a few words and thoughts about our dear friend Elaine whom we have known from all the way back to the Sixties.  Elaine was always self-assured, helpful and her great smile was always present.  We will miss her (and we pray for Bill and the family to get through this and try to arrange their lives without her strong influence.)
We have enjoyed many vacations and get-togethers with Elaine and Bill (and Brian, Laura and Tom) over these many years mostly arranged by Elaine in her talented "Superwoman" way.  We send our prayers and condolences to all the many people who will be missing her as much as we will.

We are so sad to hear of Elaine’s passing.  We enjoyed our time with Elaine in New Providence.  Many good times at Soccerama.
Our middle son Rusty loved to sit with Elaine who was always so nice to him.  We enjoyed our vacations together.

I am so sorry for your loss. It has been many years but I still remember what a great lady your mom was and the many fun times and laughs with her and your entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. 

In 1961 while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard I first met Bill and shortly thereafter Elaine.  Those were the days my friends, we thought they would never end.  In 1965 Bill & Elaine where married on 6/5/65 (6565) and Mary Anne and I on 8/28/65.  Then came the children, Black Point, the secret road, Elaine the ever gracious hostess and fantastic cook, and then one day we were raising adult children with grandchildren the same age as when we first met back in 1961.  After 58 years the memories of the entire Walsh family and, of course Elaine are treasured and never to be forgotten.  The picture is of Bill and Elaine in their very early 20s. Her smile never left her.

I worked with Elaine and we spoke daily when we were both in the office. I was able to see her a few days before she went to be with the Lord. Elaine was such a wonderful lady and was always very positive. We talked about family, politics, travel and food.  May you rest in peace my dear friend. My thoughts and prayers to Bill and your children.  Heaven has gained one fantastic lady! 

Met Elaine at work and immediately enjoyed speaking with her in the break room.  I always remember her bringing her leftover pizza slices and a salad for lunch.  Lovely lady to have known.  My prayers to the family.

What a lovely lady Elaine was.  She will be missed. Deepest sympathies to the Walsh and extended family. 

Elaine always had a smile on her face. She loved to laugh and reminisce about family. I spoke to her just 5 days before she passed. She was so happy and up beat. I wish I could say more but my heart hurts. Love you cuz💝 Rest in Gods Loving arms💖💖💖💖

Deepest condolences to Laura, Tommy and of course Mr. Walsh; both Mr and Mrs Walsh welcomed one and all into their home  and the Duttenhofers were lucky to have known them as friends. Our prayers are with you during this time. 

Many, many happy memories of growing up in the Walsh house as their neighbor.  Super bowl parties, playing in their yard. In those days, if you were playing in someone’s yard that mom was everyone’s mom for the moment. And Mrs Walsh was always so sweet, kind, quick to laugh and definitely the funny mom on the block. It’s hard to think of Mrs Walsh without smiling or quietly chuckling. A wonderful soul. May she Rest In Peace. 

Elaine was a wonderful person and I have many great memories of her from our high school days in New Providence!  Love and hugs to you all!

Dear Bill and family:  I still cannot believe that we were all FaceTiming and saluting each other just the evening before. My prayers are with you and your family. May God give you the strength and courage needed to deal with this tragedy. My deepest condolences. 

So many family memories to share I dont know where to start. We will all miss you dearly and never forget your kindness, your compassion and your selflessness.  Your laugh was infectious.

Elaine Ann Walsh of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Sunday morning, July 19, 2020 at her home in Plano. 
Elaine was born on August 27, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter and only child of her father Herbert Burleigh and her mother Margaret (Smith) Burleigh.  She graduated from Mitchell College of Long Island University with a degree in Psychology and worked at the Coast Guard Supply Center where she met her husband.
She married William Dwight Walsh on June 5, 1965 at Our Lady Of Angels Church in Brooklyn.  They left Brooklyn in 1977 with their three children and moved to New Providence, NJ.  In 1988 the family relocated to Plano where they have enjoyed the past 32 years.  Elaine worked as a Travel Agent and loved traveling around the world with Bill and many friends.  Her favorite trips included river cruises through Europe, vacations to the beach and a special trip to Ireland.  She enjoyed spending time with her family including her grandchildren, playing cards, entertaining, cooking and dining with friends. 
Elaine is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill Walsh of Plano, Texas.
She is also survived by her daughter Laura (husband Phil) Ladewig of Dallas, TX, son Thomas (wife Michelle) Walsh of Austin, TX, daughter-in-law Amy Walsh of Baltimore, MD and her seven grandchildren Mackenzie Walsh, Sean Walsh, Kelly Walsh, Abigail Ladewig, Paige Ladewig, Patrick Walsh and Marlowe Walsh.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and son: Brian Dwight Walsh who passed away in 2012.
A visitation will be held from 4:30-6pm on Monday, July 27th, at the Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252.
An outdoor service will occur on Tuesday, July 28th at 11:15am at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211. 
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Scottish Rite for Children Hospital. www.scottishriteforchildren.org


Dear Bill, Tom and Laura - I was shocked to read of Elaine's passing on Facebook this afternoon.  I called our dear east coast friends and no one knew and were as  deeply moved and saddened as me.  
 Please accept my condolences and know you are all in my prayers.
