SWANN, May Edythe Kengla, daughter of Hermann Waltemath Kengla and Mary Joaquina Robles Kengla, of Tucson, AZ, born December 5, 1920, and died in Pagosa Springs, CO on July 16, 2023. Married to Richard E. Swann, Jr. until his death in 2017.
Survived by her sister, Dorothy M. Fitzpatrick, Tucson, AZ; her five children: Russell Swann, M.D., married to Renee Swann; Kathleen Swann Munoz, married to Alan Munoz, M.D.; Marsha Swann Clayton, married to her late husband Gary Clayton, Esq; Robert Swann, CPA, married to Alexandria Swann; and Nancy Swann Freis, married to Gary Freis. She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with a degree in Nutrition. After graduation, she moved to New York to train as a stewardess with American Airlines, servicing the international route between El Paso and Mexico City. On October 20, 1945, she married Richard E. Swann, Jr. where they settled in Dallas and raised five children.
She was active in the Interior Design Guild, the National Republican Committee, Walnut Hill Homeowners’ Association, The Dallas Market Center, Neighborhood Watch and National Homeowners Association.
She was a Life Member of Brookhaven Country Club, a congregant of St Monica Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Kiwi club.
Edythe loved to travel to Mexico, Europe, and Brazil. She enjoyed dancing, especially the swing. She was passionate about classic films. She was fluent in Spanish and had an extensive knowledge of gardening.

Memorial Services are scheduled for Friday, September 8 at 10:00 A.M. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas.
Burial Services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 5 at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, Arizona.
