Edna Jean Hooks Adams was born to the parents of Arthur Lee and Della Mae Hooks in Palestine, Texas on November 1, 1943. She attended public schools in Palestine. She also attended El Centro and Mountain View College, where she received certificate in medication administration. Edna worked as a medication aide at Presbyterian Village Nursing Home for over 30 years.
Edna met and married Frederick Johnson and to this union six children were born; Doris, Freddie Jr, Ray, Lorie, Evelyn and Sandra. She later met and married A.D. Adams and one son was born to this union, Darvin Adams.
Edna was a member of the Concord Baptist Church for 42 years where she served on Hospitality, Dorothy Downing Bible Study Group, (WOW) Women of Work, and later with the Widows Group. Not only did she love her children and would do anything for them, she loved her church. She loved to cook, shop and decorate.
A.D preceded Jean in death on March 16, 2015 through God's grace, A.D extended his hand to his bride once again on April 6, 2017,(their wedding anniversary) to be together again. Also preceding her in death was her parents, one sister Dorothy, two brothers David and Johnnie and her son Freddie Jr..
She is survived by her children; Doris (Robert), Ray, Lorie (Trent), Evelyn, Sandra (Tunde), Darvin (Kenya), Dana (Barbara), Helen, Alfred, Jerry (Loretta), Sharon, 30 grand-children, 36 great-grand-children, nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
